This privacy policy explains how Rate Stuff Online is operated and maintained. We (the site maintainers) collect, use, and protect information. The policy is intentionally simple and concise.

Information we collect

We only collect information that is strictly necessary to operate the service. Because we do not use tracking cookies, targeted advertising, or sell personal data, we treat all users as having Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control enabled by default.

• Profile details you choose to provide.
• Ratings, reviews, and images you upload.
• Technical data (IP address, browser type) via our logs and error tracking services.

Your Rights

This policy complies with Republic Act No. 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012). Philippine residents and users in other jurisdictions (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) have the following rights regarding their data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by emailing us.
• Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete data via your profile settings.
• Erasure: Request deletion of your account and associated data ("Right to be Forgotten") by emailing us. We will process deletion requests within 15 business days and confirm via email when complete.
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format by emailing us.

For users outside the Philippines: We operate from the Philippines and process data there. By using this service, you consent to Philippine data protection standards.

How we use information

We use collected data to operate the site, allow you to sign in, display your content, and improve the service. We may also use anonymized data for analytics and debugging.

Content ownership

You keep ownership of any content you post and are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share it. By uploading content you grant the site a non-exclusive license to host, display, and transmit it as part of the service. We do not sell, license, or use your personal data or uploaded content to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Sharing & third parties

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate the site:

• Cloudflare: For hosting, security, caching, object storage, and global content delivery. Cloudflare may set cookies (__cf_bm, cf_clearance) for security and performance. These are necessary for the site to function and cannot be disabled. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
• ImageKit: Serves as our image content delivery network (CDN) to process and optimize user-uploaded images.
• Resend: Provides transactional email services for sending secure verification and password reset emails.
• Authentication: We use an internal secure authentication layer that requires essential httpOnly session cookies to verify returning users.
• Umami: For privacy-focused, anonymous analytics (no tracking cookies or personal identifiers).
• Bugsink: For error tracking and debugging. Bugsink collects error traces and technical logs to help us fix bugs. We exclude sensitive user data from these reports, but error messages may contain URLs or form field names for debugging purposes.

Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to secure data, but no internet service can be perfectly secure. Use strong passwords and contact the site maintainers if you have concerns.

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach affecting personal information, we will notify affected users within 72 hours via email (or as required by applicable law).

Data Retention

We retain account data as long as your account is active. Deleted accounts are purged within 30 days.

Changes

We may update this policy occasionally. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date on this page, so please check it from time to time.
